Spectacular Maruti Q3 result

Maruti Suzuki India on Saturday reported over three-fold jump in its net profit at Rs 687.53 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2009. The company posted net sales of Rs 7,333.77 crore for the December quarter, up 62.51 per cent from Rs 4,512.64 crore in the same period previous fiscal, Maruti Suzuki said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. The company will also invest Rs 1,700 crore to expand its capacity by 2.5 lakh units annually. “In the October-December quarter, favourable conditions in the domestic markets supported by the Government’s stimulus package and ease of automobile finance h elped (the company) achieve good sales,” it said. The company sold 2.58 lakh units in Q3, up 48.72 per cent from 1.73 lakh units it sold in the same quarter ended December 2008. During the quarter, exports led by the A-star continued to be strong.

Maruti october sales up 32%

Maruti Suzuki India today reported a 32.45 per cent jump in total sales, at 85,415 units, in October compared to the same period last year. Sales in the domestic market grew 21.01 per cent to 71,551 units in the last month from 59,127 units in the same month last year, while exports rose over two-fold to 13,864 units compared with 5,363 units in the year-ago period. [so far I remember Depawali was in Nov last year, so this growth might be due to festival sell and comparison with a lower number last year]

Maruti Suzuki net profit jumps over two-fold at Rs 570 cr

Maruti Suzuki India, today reported nearly two-fold jump in its net profit for the second quarter of FY'10 at Rs 570 crore. The company had a net profit of Rs 296.12 crore during the same quarter of last fiscal, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement. It also reported 46.67 per cent jump in its net sales for the quarter ended September 30, 2009, at Rs 7,049.58 crore, against Rs 4,806.26 crore during the corresponding quarter of 2008-09, the company added.

Maruti Suzuki Q1 net up 25.26%

Maruti Suzuki India, on Thursday reported a 25.26 per cent jump in its net profit for the quarter ended June 30 at Rs 583.54 crore. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 465.85 crore in the April-June period in 2008, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. Net sales during the first quarter also soared by 34.01 per cent to Rs 6,340.26 crore from Rs 4,731.03 crore in the year-ago period, it added. MSI had sold 2,26,729 vehicles in the first quarter compared with 1,92,584 in the same period last fiscal, up 17.73 per cent.

Maruti 4th quarter PAT down 18%

Maruti Suzuki India, on Friday reported 18.33 per cent decline in its net profit after tax for the quarter ended March 31, 2009, at Rs 243.13 crore as against Rs 297.68 crore in the same period previous year. The net sales, however, increased by 32.45 per cent at Rs 6,308.35 crore in the fourth quarter of the last fiscal compared to Rs 4,762.91 crore in the corresponding period of 2007-08, Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) said in a statement. For 2008-09 financial year, MSI's audited consolidated net profit plunged by 31.42 per cent to Rs 1,227.45 crore as against Rs 1,789.87 crore in 2007-08. The audited consolidated net sales of FY'09, however, rose by 14.09 per cent at Rs 20,557.94 crore, while the same stood at Rs 18,020.83 crore in FY'08,

Maruti Suzuki Feb sales up 24%

Showing signs of recovery for the two consecutive months, the country's largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki, on Monday reported a 24.08 per cent rise in its total sales during February at 79,190 units compared with 63,822 units in the same month last year. After September last year, MSI's sales had declined drastically for the next three months by 7.1 per cent, 27.4 per cent and 10 per cent, respectively. In January, the company's sales, however, rose by 5.39 per cent. The domestic sales of MSI stood at 7 0,625 units in February compared to 59,311 units in the same month a year-ago, up by 19.08 per cent. MSI registered the highest ever exports at 8,565 units as against 4,511 units in the corresponding month last year, a jump of 89.87 per cent. Sales of its once bread and butter model M800, however, fell by 29.07 per cent at 4,075 units last month ag ainst 5,745 units last year. Maruti Jan sales rise 5.60%

Car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India announced on Monday that its sales has increased by 5.60 per cent at 67,005 units in the domestic market in January this year as compared to the corresponding month last fiscal. The company’s sales during November were 65,216 units. In January this year, the company exported 4,774 units.

Maruti Q3 net dips 54% at Rs 213.57 cr

 The country's largest car maker Maruti Suzuki on Wednesday reported a 54.27 per cent dip in its net profit at Rs 213.57 crore for the December quarter. The auto major had a net profit of Rs 467.04 crore in the December quarter of FY'08, Maruti Su zuki said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange. “The reduction in net profit has been mainly due to lower volumes, a rise in material costs and adverse impact of currency changes in the fiscal,” Maruti said in the statement. Also, a higher provision for depreciation has impacted the company's bottomli ne, it added. The total income declined nearly three per cent to Rs 4,625.81 crore during the quarter under review, from Rs 4,759.43 crore in the same period last fiscal. During the October-December quarter, the company's sales stood at 1,73,494 units, down 14 per ce nt over last fiscal. Maruti car sales dip 27% in November

Maruti Suzuki India has reported 27.4 per cent dip in car sales during the month of November this year. While the company had sold 64,885 units in the corresponding month last year, it sold 47,103 units during November, 2008. Total vehicle sales during the month were also down by 24.4 per cent at 52,711 units compared to 69,699 units in the corresponding month last year. Sale of compact cars, comprising Alto, Zen Estilo, Wagon R, Swift and A-Star,was also hit as the company witnessed a 26.6 per cent decline in this segment.While the company sold 34,976 units in the reporting month, it had sold 47,641 units in November last year. The sedans - SX4 and Dzire however bucked the trend as the sales in this segment grew by 40.3 per cent at 5,975 units compared to 4,260 units last year. Maruti net slides 37% at Rs 296 crore in Q2

 Hit by rising material costs and currency fluctuations, country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Friday reported a 36.52 per cent dip in net profit for the second quarter ended September 30. Net profit for the quarter stood at Rs 296.1 crore, against Rs 466.5 crore in the same period last year, the company said in a statement. During July-September quarter net sales stood at Rs 4,806.3 crore (Net of Excise), against Rs 4,529.7 crore in the same period a year ago, up 6.1 per cent. “The reduction in net profit has been mainly due to a rise in material costs, adverse impact of currency changes and a higher provision for depreciation, owing to more stringent depreciation norms adopted by the company in March 2008,” it said. For the half year ended September, net profit stood at Rs 762 crore, against Rs 966.1 crore in the same period last year, down 21.12 per cent. Maruti Suzuki July sales flat

Car market leader Maruti Suzuki India's July sales remained almost flat at 58,543 units as against 57,909 units in the same month last year. The company said domestic sales stood at 52,911 units as against 52,839 units in the same month a year-ago, up 0.1 per cent. Exports, however, grew by 11.1 per cent at 5632 units as against 5070 units in the corresponding month last year. Sales of its once bread and butter model M800 dipped by 17 per cent at 4953 units as against 5970 units last year. The A2 segment (comprising Alto, Zen Estillo, Swift) sales stood at 34,759 units as against 34,737 units, up 0.2 per cent. The company, however, managed to post good growth in the A3 segment (consisting of SX4, Swift DZire) at 6009 units as against 4394 units last year. Maruti sales up 16.2% in May

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd on Monday reported a 16.2 per cent increase in total vehicle sales during May at 69,001 units, against 59,400 units in the same month last year. The company said its domestic sales increased by 14.6 per cent during the month at 64,143 units, against 55,952 units in May last year. Its M800 model recorded 25.2 per cent increase at 6,830 units in May this year as compared with 5,456 units in the sa me month last year. The A2 segment comprising Alto, Zen Estillo, Wagon R and Swift registered a combined growth of 14.5 per cent at 44,539 units, against 38,889 units in the same month last year. The company said in May, Swift recorded its highest ever sales, clocking 10,408 units in May 2008.

Maruti Suzuki Q4 net at Rs 297.7 cr

Car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India on Thursday reported net profit of Rs 297.7 crore for the fourth quarter ended December 2008. Although the company's net profit in the corresponding quarter the previous fiscal stood at Rs 448.6 crore, it said the figures were not comparable due to the adoption of a new depreciation policy, which has shortened cycles for its equipment and tooling assets. Total income, net of excise stood at Rs 5,069.9 crore during the quarter, it said. For the fiscal 2007-08, net profit stood at Rs 1,730.8 crore, while the total income for the fiscal stood at Rs 18,823.8 crore. Under the new policy adopted by the company, the full depreciation for equipment and tooling assets will now be eight years instead of 13 years previously.

Maruti, Shriram tie up for rural car finance

Stepping up efforts to penetrate deeper into the semi urban and rural India, the country's largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Monday inked a pact with Shriram City Union Finance with an initial allocation of Rs 1,000 crore. The tie-up would focus on financing of entry-level cars from the Maruti portfolio, which include the M800, Omni and Alto models, the company said in a statement. "Maruti Suzuki is keen to expand its presence in rural and semi-urban markets. We have the right products and an excellent network across the country to support it. However there is still lot to do in the direction of finance availability especially beyo nd metro towns," said the Chief General Manager (Sales) of Maruti Suzuki Mr R S Kalsi. He said the tie-up with Shriram Group was a step towards providing a transparent, hassle free finance options to the company's countryside customers. Maruti net beats expectations in Q3 (Live mint.com 30th Jan 2008)The country’s largest car maker, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, said net profit for the third quarter (Q3) ended December rose by a better-than-expected 24% from a year ago, as it sold more premium cars such as the SX4 sedan and the Swift compact car. Analysts expect growth next quarter to slow because the Reserve Bank of India left key interest rates unchanged, keeping car loans expensive. As a result, Maruti may have to spend more on rebates to ensure sales growth. Maruti’s Q3 net profit increased to Rs467.04 crore from Rs376.41crore a year ago. The increase was better than the Rs461.2 crore average estimated by five analysts polled before the results. TVS 2-wheeler sales slide 5% in December (Business Standard 2nd Jan 2008) TVS Motor Co today said it sold 97,576 two-wheelers in December, down 5.4 per cent from 103,188 units a year ago, mainly due to higher interest rates and stagnant demand.
