Bharti Q4 net up 3.7% at Rs 2239 cr; would split stock

Bharti Airtel  has announced its fourth quarter numbers of FY09. Its (US GAAP - generally accepted accounting principles) net profit increased 3.7% to Rs 2,239 crore versus Rs 2,159.3 crore on QoQ basis. Its net sales were up 2% at Rs 9,824.5 crore versus Rs 9,633 crore on QoQ basis.Its earnings before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) margin was at 40.7% versus 41%.The company's board has approved stock split from face value of Rs 10 to Rs 5. Its average revenue per user (ARPU) was at Rs 305 versus Rs 324 on QoQ basis. Its minutes of usage (MOU) came in at Rs 485 versus Rs 505. Bharti Airtel reported forex loss of Rs 236 crore versus Rs 220 crore on QoQ basis.

Bharti Airtel Q4 net up 39% at Rs 1,792.30 cr

Bharti Airtel Ltd posted a net profit of Rs 1,792.30 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2008, an increase of 39 per cent as against Rs 1,286.84 crore during the same quarter in 2007. Total revenue for the quarter has increased to Rs 7,446.82 crore from Rs 5,250.77 crore in the year-ago period. For the year ended March 2008, the company recorded a net profit of Rs 6,244.20 crore as compared to Rs 4,033.22 crore in 2007. The revenue for the year 2008 has increased to Rs 25,939.37 crore from Rs 17,887.99 crore shown during previous year.

Bharti Airtel crosses the 60-m customer mark (The Hindu Business Line 13th Feb 2008) Bharti Airtel Ltd announced on Wednesday that it has achieved the 60-million customer mark. The 60-million customer base covers mobile as well as fixed line and broadband customers. Bharti Airtel net rises 42% to Rs 1,722 cr (The Hindu Business Line 31th Jan 2008)Notwithstanding the prolonged battle for spectrum, telecom service provider Bharti Airtel on Wednesday announced a 42 per cent increase in its profits to Rs 1,722 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2007 compared to Rs 1,215 crore in the corresponding quarter in the previous year. The growth has been primarily driven by a huge surge in the company’s subscriber base, which increased 70 per cent to over 57 million during the third quarter. The increase in the user base enabled the company to improve its market share from 21.8 per cent in December 2006 to 23.6 per cent at the end of the third quarter in 2007. “In the current quarter, Bharti Airtel has further consolidated its leadership position in the wireless market. IBM wins $150-m Bharti Airtel contract (The Hindu Business Line 21th Jan 2008) In a bid to boost its triple play platform, Bharti Airtel has awarded a $150-million contract to IBM to provide IT solutions and services to support broadcasting services such as DTH and IPTV. Bharti had already outsourced its IT requirement for the telecom business and the new deal is aimed at providing a one-stop experience spanning mobile, PC and television. IBM will bring in its global expertise in areas including the telemedia business, distribution, enterprise segments and business resilience. The new agreement is estimated at $150 million.
