Balrampur Chini Mills on Saturday reported a marginal increase in net profit at Rs 66.19 crore for the second quarter ended March 31, 2009. The sugar manufacturer had a net profit of Rs 65.65 crore in the second quarter of last fiscal, it said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The total income rose 15 per cent to Rs 357.34 crore during the March quarter, from Rs 311.15 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal. For the six months ended March 31, Balrampur Chini reported a 79 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 117.49 crore .
The total income at the end of the six-month period stood at Rs 786.56 crore.
